Axional Operating System

Manage all your documents and files
using the power of a relational database

Axional Operating System is an enterprise database cloud operating system. Instead of storing user data in a file system, a relational database is used to store this information. Documents, mail messages, calendar appointments and internet/intranet bookmarks are all stored using database transactions.

Axional OS has been designed to extend enterprise database applications in order to deliver cloud services to users. The strong database integration makes it ideal for critical business solutions, since all outgoing and incoming data is moved through database transactions.

The capacity of Axional OS to use a shared database as the basis for communication between parallel processes in distributed computing applications improves system reliability, performance and scalability. This is the case of the IBM Informix High Availability Data replication technology.

os-userconf-general

User profile

The administrator can assign each user a group of services and privileges. These services include any of the standard tools listed below but also access to database resources and applications. The OS also monitors resource limits such as connection time and the number of active database connections in the user pool. And this is not all. Each user operation can be tracked to check system performance when complex database access is made.

os-mail

Mail client

An easy-to-use e-mail client is available as a multi account aggregator. It includes sharing capabilities to support message exchange in user groups.

os-contacts

Address book

A flexible address book allows users to share company contacts, group contacts and personal contacts, organize them in categories and perform a variety of search.

os-disk

Disk tool

Every desktop needs a solid file browser. Disk tool helps you move, copy, cut, paste, open and delete files that will be stored as database transactions. This provides your company with a centralized, continuously available document repository of key business information.

But there is much more. The disk tool supports HTTP access via a user web interface as well as SOAP and FTP data exchange. It is easy to provide customers with FTP access, or provide a Web service method enabling them to directly store documents in one of your databases and trigger actions as required.

os-calendar

Calendar

The calendar provides organizations with a Google-like calendar application with it’s own database store. As all calendar transactions are stored in the corporate database it is easy to integrate with existing business applications while maintaining maximum security.

os-userconf-printers

Printer manager

The OS can communicate with printers or print servers, allowing web applications to print directly to the configured printers. Obviously, the availability of printers is location-dependent, so the same user may have a set of printers available in New York and another in Texas. When direct printing is needed, Axional OS isolates applications from the complexity of routing printing to the appropriate devices.

os-cache

Task & cache manager

Users can have long-running database tasks or cached information on the applications servers. A tool enables them to see the state of a task, view results and cancel the task at any time.

System also keeps a cache of application objects and database cursors that can be examined and cleared on user request.

os-favorites

Favorites

Your personal favorites are always there: websites, important information, reports, etc., are always easy to manage and update. Access to internal applications can be made via desktop links or portlets with summarized data. A click on a link can start up a new web application.

os-xsl

XSLT processor

For report designers, an XSLT processor is available to allow transformation of FOP XML documents to PDF documents.
